LEGAL — INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY

Intellectual Property

Our work is protected; your work stays yours. This policy separates our materials, client materials, deliverables, and third-party assets — without claiming anything we do not own.

1. Scope

This policy explains who owns what across the eSora Studio website and our client work, what you may and may not do with it, and how to report infringement or request permission. The Site is operated by eSora Labs Ltd. for its eSora Studio division; eSora Labs Ltd. is the owner or licensee of the intellectual property described here. This policy sits alongside the Terms of Use and the Acceptable Use Policy.

2. Our materials

The following are owned by or licensed to eSora Labs Ltd. and protected by copyright, trademark, and other intellectual-property laws (“Our Materials”):

  • this website’s design, layout, text, imagery, illustrations, motion work, and underlying code;
  • the eSora and eSora Studio names, wordmarks, and the eSora mark;
  • original designs, concepts, and case-study presentations published on the Site;
  • our proprietary frameworks, methods, templates, and reusable components; and
  • documentation and marketing materials we produce.

Except for the limited viewing licence in the Terms of Use and any use the law permits regardless of contract, you may not copy, reproduce, redistribute, sell, license, publicly display, or create derivative works from Our Materials, pass them off as your own, use them to impersonate us, or remove or obscure ownership notices, without our prior written permission.

3. Client materials

Clients and prospective clients sometimes supply information, trademarks, content, files, and other assets (“Client Materials”) — for example in an enquiry or during an engagement. We claim no ownership of Client Materials. The client (or its licensors) retains all rights in them. We use Client Materials only to review the enquiry or perform the agreed services, under the limited licence described in the Acceptable Use Policy and any signed agreement; we do not take a perpetual or unrestricted licence over confidential submissions.

4. Project deliverables

Ownership and permitted use of work produced for a client (“Deliverables”) are determined exclusively by the signed agreement for that engagement — never by this website. That agreement will state, deliverable by deliverable, whether the client receives an assignment (a transfer of ownership, which takes effect as the agreement provides, typically on full payment) or a licence (permission to use the deliverable for stated purposes).

Unless the signed agreement expressly provides otherwise: editable source files, design files, repositories, working materials, and unused concepts are retained by the studio; and where Our reusable proprietary components are embedded in a Deliverable, those components remain ours and the client receives the licence needed to use the Deliverable as agreed. This website never promises that a client will receive all working files, source code, or reusable tools.

5. Third-party materials

Our work and this Site incorporate third-party materials that remain the property of their owners and are used under their own licences, including commercial and open-source typefaces (this Site is typeset in Clash Display via Fontshare and Inter and JetBrains Mono via Google Fonts), open-source software libraries (served via the jsDelivr CDN), and, in client work, stock assets or software the client’s agreement identifies. We do not claim ownership of open-source software or any third-party asset, and third-party trademarks remain the property of their respective owners.

6. AI-assisted materials

As described on the Responsible AI page, AI tools may assist our internal creative workflows under human review. Where AI-assisted material appears in or alongside our work: copyright protection for AI-generated material is unsettled in many jurisdictions, so we do not promise exclusivity, guaranteed copyright protection, or freedom from third-party claims for AI-generated elements. What a client receives in AI-assisted Deliverables is defined by the signed agreement for that engagement. We do not use AI-generated output to mimic a third party’s protected work, and we do not represent AI-assisted concepts as commissioned, deployed, or certified when they were not.

7. Trademarks

“eSora” and “eSora Studio”, and the eSora mark, are trademarks used by eSora Labs Ltd. We use the ™ symbol to indicate that we claim trademark rights; we do not use the ® symbol, and we make no claim of registered status we have not verified. Nothing on this Site grants any right to use our names or marks. Other names and marks appearing on the Site — including client names in case studies, used with permission — belong to their owners, and their appearance does not imply endorsement unless stated.

8. What we do not claim

To be explicit, we do not claim ownership of: Client Materials; open-source software; third-party fonts, stock assets, or libraries; abstract ideas, methods of doing business, or general design concepts that belong to no one or to others; or any rights that belong to our clients or other third parties. Protecting our work does not mean overreaching into what is yours.

9. Reporting suspected infringement

If you believe content on this Site infringes your copyright, trademark, or other rights, email info@esoralabs.com (attention: “IP — eSora Studio”) with: (a) identification of the work you believe is infringed and the rights you hold; (b) the location (URL) of the material on this Site; (c) your name and contact details; and (d) a brief explanation of the concern. A real person reviews every report; we investigate in good faith, respond, and remove or correct material where warranted. We have not appointed a registered copyright agent and do not operate a statutory notice-and-takedown programme; reports are handled directly under applicable Canadian law.

10. Requesting permission

To request permission to use Our Materials — for example press usage, educational use, or reproduction of a case study — email info@esoralabs.com (attention: “IP — eSora Studio”) describing what you want to use, where, and why. We respond to reasonable requests, and any permission we grant is written, specific, and revocable as stated.

11. Contact

Intellectual-property questions, reports, and permission requests: info@esoralabs.com (attention: “IP — eSora Studio”). Owner: eSora Labs Ltd., Toronto, Ontario, Canada.
